The timing was right for the Giroux siblings, Theresa and Jim, to purchase and to reopen the restaurant in LaPasse. Originally, their parents operated the restaurant for 10 years after it opened in 1977 and then sold it 21 years ago.

Today, Giroux’s Family Restaurant has a fresh looking dining room and the original coffee shop restored with a seating capacity of 125. Theresa had thought about it for a Theresa and Jim Giroux year or more and said, “My brother Jim and I were sentimental about the move and realized it was the right time in our lives to do it”. She added, “We wouldn’t have been able to get open this soon without all the support of our family and friends”. Inside the front door is a sign that says, “Come as a guest and leave as a friend”, and with that motto, how can they fail.

A local self-proclaimed food critique, Godfrey D’Aoust was present for opening day and said,

“I was pleased with Ms. Giroux’s hospitality, the friendly and efficient service and   the food itself".
